Five days of music, food and other events in La Manga The Plaza Bohemia in La Manga del Mar Menor (click for map) is hosting five days of local fiestas between 16th and 20th September, with activities which include live music, fun and games for children, gastronomy, competitions and of course a firework disiplay. The Origins of the Mar Menor tour traces the ancient and modern history of La Manga This 5-kilometre walking tour in La Manga begins at the bridge of El Estacio and the channel which enables boats to pass between the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, and continues to the lighthouse, where information is given about the long history of the area. After seeing the water storage facilities which were used in the past by lighthouse-keepers and their families the route returns to the port, where it is still possible to see the home of Tomás Maestre..
