ÁGUILAS
Beach located in the natural environment, in the limit of Águilas and shared with Andalusia. The view is surrounded by two reefs, one of them is black due to the presence of volcanic rocks and the other one is yellow and has fossil remains, constituting a unique environment for geology lovers. It is 5.6 kilometres outside the city, open to the south, and protected against eastern winds by Punta Parda.
ÁGUILAS
Semi-urban beach. One of the most emblematic beaches, well accessible from the road carretera de Almería. It is oriented to the east and counts with a superb view to the village and to the promontory where the Castle of San Juan de Las Águilas is settled. Abundant fine sand, a peaceful and progressive way in to the beach. Protected to the south and the east. It is part of the site known as "Cuatro Calas", designated as "Protected Natural Landscape".

This beach is located in a natural setting, five kilometres within the famous Cuatro Calas (Four Coves). Like the other coves, this beach has a significant area covered by golden sand that gently leads into crystal-clear waters. Facing east, it is sheltered from the west wind and slightly less protected from the southwest wind. There is a sharp-edged, small rocky island, which fishers call "La Cama de los Novios" (The Bride and the Groom's bed), located opposite this beach.

Calarreona beach counts with a vast surface of sand to the point of forming dunes on the adjacent salt marshes. Oriented to midday. A central little promontory where a youth hostel is settled.

Semi-urban beach. Dog friendly beach. Users Rules Dogs must be licensed, vaccinated and inmunnized. Dogs of Potentially Dangerous Breeds must be muzzled. Dogs must be under voice control or be in sigth of ther owner. No spike or prong collar. Clean up after your dog poop. Place your garbage and doog poop in containers.

This beach is formed by sand and loose stones and it gradually descends into the sea, although there are some areas, especially in its central section, where there is a steep slope.

It extends to the breakwater Espigón de la Rambla del Charco. The old fisher monger's, the "Westerly Wind Harbour" (Puerto de Poniente) as well as the spas where located here. It is surrounded by gardens, palm trees and recreational areas.

Urban beach located in the eastern limit of the city, open to the East but protected by Isla del Fraile. This beach goes alongside a coastline which is located between the old mineral loading bay of El Hornillo and the sea close to El Fraile. A uniform way in to the beach and a sandy bottom.

You can access there through the Urbanisation El Fraile Resort in the highroad Calabardina, where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Bahía and Isla del Fraile. The southern area of the beach is open and the eastern area is protected by the island, both, the beach and the island, separated by a 50m width and 1.5 deep narrow canal, dangerous for a swim in stormy days. The predominant eastern current increases its intensity when it arrives at the strait between island and beach, resulting into high quality, extraordinary transparent waters. During the whole summer is a meeting point of sports boats. Its surroundings are very rich in archeological remains.

CALABARDINA (ÁGUILAS)

Easily accessible. The largest residential areas of the locality spread all around this beach, where the fishers' hamlet was located, surrounding the now extinct tunny fishery. The cape Cabo Cope, an outstanding anchorage for ships, protects it on its eastern face, like a vigilant and imposing guardian. This is a beach of fine sand, sandy seabed and clean, crystal-clear waters. The former pier, now used by small boats and diving clubs for their outings, bears witness to bygone times, times when the tunny fishing catches where unloaded there. There are beachfront restaurants.
