Stage 18

STAGE 18 Puerto de Mazarrón - Cartagena (37.2 km)

In this stage we'll leave from the Puerto de Mazarrón Tourist office via the Playa del Puerto cycle lane to skirt the Playa del Alamillo by road.

We'll connect with the RM-332, where we'll be able to enjoy a hard-shoulder with separators to improve cyclists' safety. Then, we'll face the main climb of the route: towards the town of Tallante, 9 km at an average of 3.65%, a very long ascent with the last kilometre being the most demanding. At the top we'll be able to visit the Hermitage in Tallante. Leaving towards Perín on the E-16, we'll find a short steep slope before being able to visit the church in the town of Cartagena.

We'll approach the town of Canteras via the path of the Natural Space of La Muela, Cabo Tiñoso y Roldán, from which we'll leave through the Tentegorra urbanization towards the park, always looking for the least travelled areas, to head along the road towards Cartagena via the road for pedestrians and bikes among the trees, and connect with the cycle lane before the Palacio de los Deportes. We'll follow this separated cycle lane until we arrive at the Tourist Office, located in the Cartagena Marina zone.
